Your new house has a pre-installed home security system
Many times after you purchase a home, you’ll see that the previous owners used a smart home system. All the devices function well, are placed in the correct areas, and are ready to go. In this case, all you might have to do is to call and start a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to make sure there are no integration issues, and they could offer suggestions on upgrades. It's a preliminary trip, and you can get your 24/7 monitoring set up without worrying about any new components -- unless you add on.
The old homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer fee to make your life easier. If the owners are downsizing to an apartment or retirement community, transferring the home security contract may be an addendum of the sale.
You are looking to move and take your home security equipment with you
You may need to bring along your existing smart devices with you to a new home when you move. Luckily, it's pretty easy to do, as modern smart devices are portable. You can remove each device by yourself or contact a professional installer to come and take down your devices. Then our installers will set up the same components -- and any new items you need -- in the new house. Your home security contract will keep the same.
